Private and Corporate Sponsors play a very important role in the success of today’s Rodeo Athletes. Just as in Golf, Tennis or any of the other not-team sports, Rodeo Contestants depend heavily on the financial assistance of their sponsors. Rodeo Contestants are self-employed with their income generated only by their winnings. Rodeo prize money purses are generally not large enough to support the Contestants expenses. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Contestant spends the entire season of approximately 100 rodeos vying for one of only15 places, per event, at the National Finals Rodeo, in Las Vegas, NV.
